一年12月欧洲度过大大小小100个节日
给你我的姓名,此刻让我想到的三个词汇是波动着的,我想以这一年的常居地、最常吃的一种水果、最常做的一项运动来完成
Blackberry · Swimming · Scotland · Iris
“It’s so tempting to let the river pull me along,” Iris told the starlings that sat on the branches beneath the magpies.
The birds watched her, a familiar presence there now. Swimming here had become one of her own private joys. Iris also knew that if she let the river pull her downstream just a little then she would find the special place where the bramble bushes grew along the river bank.
The place where she could pluck a blackberry from the branch while swimming. A place where two pleasures and joys could meet in the body of the water.
Scotland had taught her how to enjoy such things. The wild beauty of the land, the freedom that survived here and the life that flourished everywhere.
Each blackberry savoured let a memory of itself impress itself into her thoughts, like the sound of a lullaby for whenever she needed to recall the light of hope and happiness.
Nothing would rival the flavour of these blackberries, but it didn’t have to. She would always have them safe in the flavours her heart would never forget.
Iris began swimming back upstream towards her future, towards whatever came next for her as she stepped out of the river, but for that she was ready, forever with this secret joy of Scotland in her heart.
